What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file your browser keeps for a website it has visited. It lets us remember a few useful things between visits, for example, that you've already accepted this cookies notice.
The cookies we set ourselves
- ukms_cookie_choice, remembers that you've seen the cookies notice so we don't show it again. No personal information. Kept for 12 months.
Analytics, only after you accept
Once you accept the cookies notice, we load Google Analytics 4(the modern, GDPR-friendlier successor to Google Analytics). It records anonymous, aggregate information like which pages people read, how they got there, and what device they're on. We use it to decide which pages are working and which need a rewrite. IP addresses are anonymised before they reach Google.
Before you accept, the script loads with Google Consent Mode v2 set to denied. That means no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. If you don't accept, it stays that way.
We don't use Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, advertising trackers, session recorders, or anything else that builds a profile of you across sites.
Cookies set by services we embed
Some of the pages on this site embed third-party services that may set their own cookies. We've listed them here so you know exactly what's happening.
- Google Maps, the embedded map on the home page, contact page and clinic finder. Google may set cookies for anti-fraud and to remember your map preferences. See Google's cookie policy for details.
- BookWhen, the training course calendar. If you click through to book, BookWhen sets cookies on their own domain to run the checkout. See BookWhen's privacy notice.
- Timely, the clinic booking system we link out to. Cookies are only set if you proceed to their site. See Timely's privacy notice.
How to turn cookies off
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually in Settings → Privacy. You can also use your browser's incognito or private mode to browse without saving any cookies at all.
Blocking all cookies will stop our notice from remembering your choice, so you'll see it again. Otherwise the site will work exactly the same.
